Continuous Improvement Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- I dentify and improve manufacturing profitability through productivity improvement, waste reduction and safety improvement;
- Provide clear work instructions, training, and design systems to promote sustainability of improvements;
- Utilize Lean Six-Sigma methodology to make improvements to processes to improve process capability, efficiency, and quality;
- Work with the Tooling Department to optimize production tooling requirements and design.
Requirements:
- Ability to manage and supervise junior engineers and/or engineering technicians;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Good understanding of heat transfer systems;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Highly results oriented and focused on business priorities, with a successful record of accomplishments;
- Hands-on experience and ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment;
- Lean certification strongly desired;
- Advanced Computer Skills (Excel, SQL, Minitab);
- Results based Leadership style skill set with strong impact and influencing skills;
- Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments concurrently, including ability to assess and manage priorities;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Knowledge of plastic materials;
- Ability to organize and interpret data to isolate manufacturing problems and determine trends;
- Experience with plastics processes;
- Travel up to 10%
