Construction Worker Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Construction Worker to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements);
- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces;
- Finish concrete per job requirements;
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead);
- Hand-tie steel bars into cages for precast pieces;
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded;
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures;
- Gathers parts to be placed in forms for layout;
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws;
- Utilize hand tools to level concrete in moldings;
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements;
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps;
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Requirements:
- Pursuing of Associates of Applied Science General Technology-Construction emphasis or Certification;
- Productive worker with solid work ethic who exerts effort in successfully completing tasks;
- Willingness to learn new skills or techniques;
- Completed a construction internship at USU Blanding;
- Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing;
- Construction experience;
- Ability to work OT as required by production;
- Team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and co-workers;
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints;
- Dependable, responsible contributor committed to excellence and success;
- Six months of more knowledge and experience in construction field;
- 1 year experience in the construction industry;
- Has attention to detail when it comes to looking ahead on project.
