Senior Linux Systems Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Application Service Provider (ASP), managed hosted, SaaS cloud, PaaS cloud, IaaS cloud and hybrid;
- Architecting systems infrastructure solutions to deliver business applications and contenting to customers at low latency and high throughput.
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of systems security practices;
- Excellent technical troubleshooting experience;
- Understanding of Agile / Scrum and TDD principles with a focus on infrastructure;
- Working knowledge of Ruby and Bash scripting languages;
- Some travel required;
- Understanding of automation and deployment tools (Puppet, Chef, Ruby, Jenkins, GIT, Python, Shell scripting or similar);
- Experience implementing ITIL based service catalog for Linux platforms;
- Working outside the standard office 7.5 hours workday as required; on-call availability;
- 5+ years IT experience;
- Experience applying practices to storage administration;
- Systems Administrator experience;
- Strong and comprehensive verbal and written communications;
- Working knowledge of database technologies (Oracle clustering and ASM, MondoDB, Mysql, and/or DB2);
- Experience implementing PCI and HIPPA compliance standards preferred;
- Provide periodic 24-7 on-call support of specific functions.
