Systems Engineer 3 Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Systems Engineer 3 to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide input to strategic plans and product roadmaps;
- Perform general research to evaluate a range of product offerings and evaluate emerging trends;
- Respond to escalated incidents and engage vendors as necessary. Identify, track, and resolve associated problems;
- Document the steps required to fulfill service requests;
- Interact with vendors and provide feedback on their products;
- Identify and document technical application, architectures and requirements;
- Participate in the design and implementation of supporting systems and infrastructure;
- Assist in the designing measures to protect the system from security compromise and to keep the system safe;
- Author and maintain documentation and knowledge-based articles;
- Ensure system monitoring is properly tuned;
- Keep training material up-to-date;
- Order, provision and configure supporting systems and infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with system development processes to include Agile, Lean, etc;
- Enterprise Architect;
- RF Engineering;
- Rational System Architect;
- Project management theory and understanding of the basic PMP principles;
- Experience supporting relational databases such as MSSQL, Oracle, etc;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
- This job operates in a professional office environment;
- Understanding of Information Security controls (Role based access, firewalls, network design, group policies, password rotation, etc);
- Familiarity with different Identity solutions OAUTH, SAML, LDAP, WAM;
- Experience with Monitoring tools – Splunk, SolarWinds, AppDynamics;
- Experience with firewalls concepts;
- Experience with Change, Incident, and Problem management processes; experience with the ITIL expressions of these processes is preferred;
- Familiar with Scripting tools – Bash, powershell, etc;
- Experience maintaining and managing multiple operating systems such as Windows Server, Red Hat, Enterprise Linux.
