Operations Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Operations Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring system/service health and proactively identifying performance issues that could lead to service degradation or outage;
- Shipments and documented according to site and client procedures;
- Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested;
- Troubleshoot operations failures and re-establish building services under minimal supervision;
- Work with skilled HVAC Mechanics to support PM’s and work orders;
- Manages contractors, including selection, scheduling and job assignments, appraisals and recognition;
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks in a timely manner;
- Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment;
- Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed, using work order system;
- May respond to inquiries and/or provide assistance and/or guidance to lower level workers;
- Periodically acts as the on-call engineer for the portfolio of office buildings;
- Actively participates in emergency response procedures, technical and safety training programs;
- Collect and maintain Key Performance Indicator metrics for the HVAC dashboard;
- Other assigned operational tasks as may be typically expected of the Building Engineer role;
- Ability to work long hours occasionally and some weekends.
Requirements:
- Shipments and documented according to site and client procedures;
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to professionally respond to tenant requests;
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in electrical, HVAC trade, including rooftop units;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Knowledge of maintenance and operation of building automation, water treatment and fire life safety systems;
- Two or more years experience in commercial HVAC or related field;
- CFC certification;
- Familiarity with computers and operations and office automation applications, including Microsoft Office;
- BS in Engineering or Scientific Field;
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in backup systems (generator and UPS);
- Strong customer service orientation;
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution;
- Good interpersonal and a positive team attitude;
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
