Our company is looking for a Middle School Math Teacher to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the larger school community through coaching or sponsoring other extracurricular programs, including competitive math teams;
  • Maintains accurate records of attendance, homework, and grades using computerized data systems;
  • Meets professional responsibilities through efficient work habits;
  • Assumes responsibility for student achievement;
  • Work directly with other Middle School teachers as part of a Professional Learning Community;
  • Teach four sections of Middle School math. Ability to teach any course in Middle School Math from 6th grade through Algebra I and Geometry;
  • Familiarity with TI graphing calculators and ability to use them to enhance mathematics teaching and learning preferred;
  • Participates in the daily functions of the school including morning duty, lunch, recess and dismissal;
  • Fulfill supervisory duties as assigned;
  • Serve as a Middle School faculty member and an advisor to students;
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student, family and colleague information to be a role model of respectful behavior at all times;
  • Carry out daily formal and informal assessments of student achievement;
  • Maintain accurate records of student academic and behavioral progress, attendance, test scores and personal information;
  • Use oral and written language skills accurately and effectively;
  • Demonstrate sound professional teaching and classroom management skills to facilitate learning.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of behavior management skills and techniques;
  • Master’s Degree or Teacher Certification;
  • Strong content knowledge of Louisiana Grade Level Expectations;
  • Capable of working with challenging behaviors;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Must have LA teaching license;
  • Or, candidate must have passed the PLACE or PRAXIS II (Exam #0061 only) test in Math;
  • Proficiency with a range of technologies and the ability to use them to enhance teaching and learning;
  • Candidates must be flexible, good with classroom management, behavioral experience, Algebra experience, prep from the curriculum;
  • Previous experience teaching Math at the middle school level;
  • BA or BS from an accredited College or University;
  • Proficiency with technology.
