Middle School Science Teacher Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Middle School Science Teacher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with students and parents as necessary;
- Teach 7 th Grade Science;
- Incorporate educational technology throughout instruction and coursework;
- Fulfill supervisory duties as assigned;
- Create an environment that fosters open discussion with the freedom to express varied points of view;
- Teach one-to-two electives, per year;
- Perform additional duties and participate in the life of the school by advising a club, chaperoning events, and attending student activities;
- Engage and support students of varied identities, lifestyles, and beliefs;
- Serve as a Middle School student advisor;
- Perform supervisory duties during the school day and at school events;
- Serve as a Middle School faculty member and an advisor to students;
- Teach four sections of science, which includes integrated teaching with other subject areas on cross-disciplinary units and projects;
- Make math meaningful and relevant by inspiring students;
- Explore and implement innovative use of technology in science education, including our Innovation Lab as a resource;
- Contribute to grade-level teams by meeting to discuss student support and other grade-level priorities.
Requirements:
- Deep familiarity with the developmental and learning needs of Middle School children;
- Proficiency with a range of technologies and the ability to use them to enhance teaching and learning;
- A passion for middle school, a sense of humor, and positivity and warmth;
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field as well as teaching experience;
- Dedication to teaching and learning in a vigorous, progressive school community with commitment to equity and inclusion.
