Our company is looking for a Chef to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Train and develop cooks as needed;
  • Efficiently work with team members towards providing the best product possible;
  • Plan and delegate food preparation and cooking tasks to the team;
  • Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian ;
  • Cleaning: maintain cleanliness of kitchen and all food storage areas;
  • help create weekly specials;
  • Maintain Staff Schedule to or below projected labor cost;
  • Food safety: maintain high standards of personal and kitchen hygiene; maintain food safety records;
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards;
  • Stock control: manage food, equipment and stock rotation. Active involvement with station management for indenting of replenishments;
  • Other duties as assigned by Owner or General Manager;
  • Develop and execute custom menus for catering events;
  • Plan, prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by the MJ’S Fish and Chicken Express;
  • Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients;
  • Create new dishes and menus in accordance with business needs.

Requirements:

  • Excellent attention to detail, presentation, and cleanliness;
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while under pressure;
  • Outstanding customer service skills;
  • Willingness to adapt to local market needs and conditions;
  • Strong verbal communication skills;
  • Positive and professional attitude;
  • Must be detail oriented;
  • Travel required/Valid Driver’s License;
  • Excellent knowledge of household table etiquette, service, and entertaining protocol;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate the team;
  • must have 2 years experience in fast paced restaurant environments;
  • A requirement of this job is a passion for the development and mentoring of others;
  • Experience as a chef;
  • Must have reliable transportation;
  • Strong Emotional Intelligence Skills.
