Our company is looking for a Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Dedicated to supporting maintenance technicians by working in a safe, customer-focused manner; and must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric;
  • Project planning and cost analysis;
  • Monitor the Company’s Quality program in the station and ensure conformity and implementation of standards;
  • Develop business plans and provide guidance and direction for the successful implementation of those plans;
  • Responsible for adherence to Company training programs;
  • Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned;
  • Makes emergency road calls to repair trucks;
  • Schedules or assigns work to Mechanics, PM Mechanics or other Maintenance Shop personnel;
  • Provides oversight and responsible for organization of the yard and facilities at every location with in the division;
  • Fosters collaboration between and among personnel;
  • Ensure adequate training and development of mechanics, leads, and all other shop personnel;
  • Discusses maintenance issues, contracts and warranty work with vendors;
  • Assists in monthly financial projections and annual budget;
  • Responsible for the control of inventory and maintenance of equipment.

Requirements:

  • Must have excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements;
  • Must be able to travel to locations with in the district;
  • Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information;
  • CDL Class B with Air Brakes a plus;
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and training staff a must;
  • Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division and district objectives;
  • 5+ years management or supervision experience in truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Waste industry experience a plus;
  • Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair;
  • Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems;
  • Must have ability to plan, budget, schedule and supervise multiple projects from concept to completion.
