Our company is looking for a Assistant Superintendent to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers;
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations;
  • Assist in processing submittals;
  • Assist field personnel in quality control inspections and documentation;
  • Monitor subcontractor activities to assure compliance to contract documents;
  • Provide administrative support for the Project Superintendent and leadership to project staff;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Identifies and makes recommendations to Project Superintendent regarding project risks including safety/loss control,
  • Supervises and directs the efforts of MCRT Punch Carpenters and Laborers;
  • Implement all applicable safety, EEO and Affirmative Action programs;
  • Coordinate, implement and monitor Project Engineer training and development;
  • scheduling all required jurisdictional inspections and testing;
  • Inspects subcontractor’s work to ensure that it meets subcontracted obligations and Company quality standards;
  • Assist in developing project chart of accounts, CPM schedule, subcontracts/purchase orders and project responsibility listing;
  • subcontractor/supplier issues, site conditions and logistics, scheduling, change orders, and document conflicts.

Requirements:

  • Proven commitment to safety;
  • Experience with self-perform work required;
  • Must be able to take and give direction and be able to communicate clearly with staff at all levels of field operations;
  • Working knowledge of Rain Bird irrigation system;
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to different conditions in a timely manner;
  • Familiarity with cool season grasses in the Mid Atlantic region preferred but not required;
  • Minimum 2 years prior golf course experience preferred;
  • Prior supervisory experience with a proven record to train, coach and positively influence the team is a plus;
  • Spanish speaking skills a plus buy not necessary;
  • Strong attention to detail, passion for excellence and a great attitude;
  • Must be a self-starter who can execute and complete assigned activities;
  • 4 year or 2 year Turfgrass Management degree or related field is preferred;
  • Strong organizational and computer skills;
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to troubleshoot potential problems;
  • Ability to maintains accurate and detailed records.
