Our company is looking for a Communications Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencer’s and key community and strategic partners;
  • Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail;
  • Promotes goodwill through such publicity efforts as speeches, exhibits, films, tours, and question/answer sessions;
  • Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management;
  • Develops and manages marketing operating budget;
  • Keep the team up to speed on industry related news;
  • Collaborate with members and manage relationships;
  • Field inbound media requests and vet accordingly;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned;
  • Provide communications and marketing support as needed for key Ceres events (e.g. Ceres Conference, Investor Summit on Climate Risk, etc.);
  • Provide input on website, social media, eCommunity messaging to amplify impact across all Ceres’ digital platforms;
  • Works with and supports outside vendors, including graphic designers, marketing and web professionals, and social media consultants;
  • Assist in cross-function coordination for product and PR launches;
  • Be in possession of an inquisitive mind to evolve the understanding and build out the compelling story;
  • Basic web content management.

Requirements:

  • Ability to take initiative to develop new strategies and outside-the-box ideas for social media;
  • Knowledge of news cycle and digital storytelling;
  • 4+ years of public relations, communications, writing, or related experience;
  • Background in finance is a plus, but not a requirement;
  • Deep knowledge of the overall media landscape and experience working with media;
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite or InDesign required;
  • Must be deadline and detail oriented;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Ability to think strategically/see the big picture;
  • Must have reliable transportation;
  • Love of all things Media;
  • A comprehensive understanding of the art of storytelling;
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset, results-driven;
  • Social media and electronic media experience a plus;
