Our company is looking for a Director of Business Development to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish results-producing relationships with the referral community including physicians, discharge planners, and payers;
  • Identify and create successful merger/acquisition opportunities with independent physician practices;
  • Coordinate industry events that Vanir is sponsoring;
  • Bring a high level of knowledge and experience to all projects;
  • Pursue government and corporate grant funding opportunities in partnership with the CEO and program staff;
  • Identify and implement census development strategies for the assigned hospital(s);
  • Leading negotiations with external partners, acquisition targets, and bankers;
  • Monitor campaign delivery and provide optimization plans to partners’ to grow revenue;
  • Forming teaming relationships to pursue business opportunities;
  • Some days in office required, up to 50% travel may be required;
  • Lead the OGI team in preparation of high-quality proposals and RFP responses;
  • Identify needs and source customer specific solutions for those needs;
  • Follow disciplined sales process to ensure consistent execution of best practices;
  • Leads capture/proposal teams;
  • Schedules and/or conducts workshops and seminars for the community.

Requirements:

  • Previous consulting experience is preferred;
  • Spot trends/identifies opportunities within an account;

  • Strong ability to develop effective written pitch documents, including presentation decks that frame data in a compelling, audience-centered narrative;

  • Minimum of 8 years conducting successful business development and leading capture teams in the Federal Government environment;
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Capable of dealing with highly visible and demanding customers;
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO;
  • Must have exceptional documentation and writing skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect;
  • Previous new business experience ideally in a sales or consultant role in the same or similar industry.
