Quality Engineering Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Quality Engineering Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to process improvement by socializing and motivating the adoption of processes across multiple product teams;
- Design and develop frameworks and robust automation test scripts at both Unit and integration level;
- Incorporate best practices around test reporting, CI/CD, test maintenance;
- Manage and participate in projects to maintain and improve the Quality System;
- Act as the Quality System representative in Design Control meetings;
- Mentor and guide team members in quality data trending and analysis; evaluate and present report of analysis;
- Conduct code reviews to manage automation code quality and guide teams for improvements and adherence to best practices;
- Lead and train a dynamically changing team of testing resources;
- Review, monitor, and approve documentation, as assigned, to ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and guidance documents;
- Develop, execute, and interpret load, stress, and other automated performance test results;
- Cultivate an Onsite-Offshore experience by managing a number onsite and offshore engineers;
- Understand and navigate the complexity of testing on multiple platforms for a large number of users;
- Design and implement test automation strategy for multiple product development teams;
- Exhibit expertise in handling large scale programs/projects that involve multiple stakeholders (like Business, Dev, Ops, Product, UX);
- Demonstrate extensive understanding of automation development cycle and how it fits into an iteration.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills both internally & externally; one on one and in group settings;
- Ability to provide coaching and guidance to employees;
- Expertise in team management, smart goal setting, scoping and estimations and clear communication;
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, Agile, continuous delivery environment;
- Managerial/supervisory strongly preferred;
- REST APIs and SOAP web services with JSON and XML payloads;
- Strong computer skills on Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Solid knowledge of test architectural principles, concepts, and application across web/cloud-based technologies;
- Knowledge of international standards and regulations as they pertain to Sage Products (i.e. MDD, ISO13485, EU GMPs, etc.);
- Bachelors degree in engineering, physical or biological sciences, other technical discipline, or equivalent;
- Ability to provide technical input related to regulatory and/or quality systems to project teams;
- Training in Quality Systems including QSR/GMPs, and relevant ISO Standards;
- Build systems such as TeamCity, Jenkins, Maven, Ant;
- 8-14 years core development or SDET experience with minimum 2 years into team management;
- Strong ability to facilitate discussions and negotiate mutually beneficial solutions when necessary.
