VP of Human Resources Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a VP of Human Resources to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Building organizational capability and talent bench strength;
- Conduct investigations on employee relations issues and advise management on appropriate resolution;
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive Human Resources strategy that integrates and closely aligns with the business strategy;
- Develop recruiting and retention plans to meet the staffing needs of company ‘s strategic goals;
- Partners with leaders to align HR deliverables with business strategy;
- Budgeting;
- Someone who can thrive in a startup environment;
- Maintains current knowledge of HR policies, programs, laws and issues;
- Oversee FMLA, ADA, bereavement, unemployment claims and unemployment appeals. Assist with return to work duties for Worker’s Compensation claims;
- Conduct HR staff meetings. Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual corporate meetings representing the HR department;
- The candidate will lead and facilitate the company’s merit, compensation incentive and annual review programs;
- Oversee HR audits of: I-9, EEO-1, FLSA, meal breaks, licenses and certifications, full and part time hours, and personnel files;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Develops programs that enhance the performance of property team members relative to service initiatives and engagement planning;
- The candidate will facilitate the interpretation of Company policies related to HR issues and ensure development of the HR organization.
Requirements:
- Experience with HRIS systems and specifically ADP Workforce Now (preferred);
- Models excellent judgment and demonstrates the courage to take smart risks that improve business performance;
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions and integrating them into the parent company;
- Team player who quickly builds trust and collaborative working relationships with business leaders and partners;
- An analytical mind able to evaluate the complexities of procedures and regulations;
- Ten+ years of progressive, generalist experience in all aspects of HR management;
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping;
- Understand the requirements associated with employment law across different states to ensure company compliance;
- Must have experience in areas including recruitment, retention, training, compensation, benefits, employee relations and performance management;
- Must have corporate HR experience in the manufacturing industry;
- Talented communicator across all team levels;
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related is required. Relevant Master’s degree and SPHR preferred;
- Understanding of federal and state employment laws;
- Displays integrity and ethics in handling confidential information;
- Prior experience in the gaming industry experience preferred.
