Principal Data Scientist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Principal Data Scientist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Propose and leverage new sources of data for acquisition, from both internal consumer touch points and external third-party data partnerships;
- Architect data and modeling pipelines;
- Utilize data science techniques to design algorithms for outlier detection, recommendation engines and reinforcement learning;
- Use existing insights and develop new strategies to drive the product strategy;
- Conduct end-to-end analyses from data requirement gathering in addition to data processing and modeling;
- Proposing infrastructure to accelerate the pace of model exploration and improve model serving and maintenance;
- Maintain internal and external profiles through contributions to congresses, publications, and external KOLs;
- Identifying new opportunities to leverage our data asset;
- Work with internal and external data scientists to scope and execute Advance Analytics projects;
- Identifying appropriate models/algorithms to solve product requirements;
- Plan and deploy methodological standards, standardized processes, demos, and POCs for the company’s highest priority business needs;
- Meticulous experimentation to evaluate and compare models;
- Meeting with customers to discuss our machine learning models and roadmap;
- Evangelizing Bluecore Data Science internally and externally;
- Provide expertise and execute advanced analytics for solving problems across R&D, Medical Affairs, HEVA and Market Access Strategies and Plans.
Requirements:
- Great communication and presentation skills;
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or another technical field;
- 5+ year experience with statistics and probability, particularly their application in systems analysis and operations research;
- Demonstrated experience designing and building new ideas, working closely with technical teams from concept generation through implementation;
- Involvement in the scientific community via publications or open source software contributions;
- Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or equivalent/related degree;
- Technically led a team of data scientists and demonstrated mentoring skills within the group,
- Master’s Degree in data science, computer science or Engineering;
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics or similar field;
- Fluent in Python, Scala;
- 2+ years’ experience in managing small to medium size machine learning team;
- 1+ year of experience in highly distributed large data environments;
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends;
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering;
- Deep understanding of Windows/Linux operating system.
