Vendor Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Vendor Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Participate to formulate workflow processes, methods and policies for applying vendors;
- Act as a functional bridge for external vendors and internal stakeholders;
- Troubleshoot vendor problems and present to management as required;
- Ensure vendors meet or exceed their contractual obligations;
- Negotiate, manage and monitor contractual agreements;
- Support expansion across new business lines;
- Manage external vendor relations;
- Track, measure, evaluate, and report vendor performance;
- Coordinate processes and methods to approve vendors;
- Identify improvement areas internally and work with internal stakeholders to prepare solutions;
- Coordinate vendor management tasks.
Requirements:
- MINIMUM 5 years of experience in vendor management;
- Must be able to pass background and drug screening;
- Accounting background;
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment;
- Intermediate or above SQL skills;
- Ability to collaborate with different types of vendors;
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions;
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
- Excellent analytical skills;
- Proven success in budget control, performance analysis and contract management;
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field;
- Able to identify, analyze and resolve problems;
- Strong quantitative analysis skills (with advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills) and use of data to make decisions and to influence others;
- Willing and eager to roll up your sleeves and get to know the business at the lowest level of detail;
- Experience performance managing, coaching, and improving the metrics of external-facing service teams.
