Builder Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Builder to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Take an active part in subdivision and model maintenance;
- Comply with construction specifications and standards;
- Comply with OSHA regulations and other safety requirements;
- Answer customer questions about the building process;
- Perform formal quality inspections;
- Set and maintain high standards of performance by subcontractors and suppliers;
- Responsible for a quality building process and product;
- Utilize internal scheduling system to ensure timely completion of homes;
- Responsible for managing to the Production Schedule;
- Schedules and attends all necessary municipal inspections. Assists Inspectors with the completion of the review, and rectifies issues as required;
- Monitors all daily trade functions: timeliness, quality of workmanship and completion of work;
- Assists in ordering all materials required to construct houses;
- Responsible for supervising on-site construction staff, including the scheduling of subcontractors inspectors and suppliers on the job,
- Accountable for managing the construction of assigned homes from foundation to 30-day warranty service;
- Resolving day-to-day problems on the job site, inspecting all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently in a fast track environment;
- The ability to hold subcontractors accountable for their work;
- A minimum of 2 years of experience managing residential operations in all phases of the construction process;
- Knowledge of residential building codes;
- Must be accountable and self-disciplined;
- Strong organizational and communication skills;
- Experience working for a production homebuilder is idea;
- Basic computer skills, experience using an iPad and iPhone;
- Basic computer skills, experience using an iPad preferred;
- Scattered Site experience and/or ability to oversee multiple jobs miles apart required;
- A minimum of 3 years of experience managing residential operations in all phases of the construction process;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external customers;
- Experience with high volume production builder nice to have;
- Highly organized and a self-starter;
- College degree required, in a related field preferred.
