Our company is looking for a Controls Design Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Engineering;
  • Report and document budget and scope issues as well as create and submit Engineering Change Requests to Project Managers when required;
  • Maintains accurate journal or composition book;
  • Possesses expert level engineering concepts, and easily works with several PLC and peripheral protocols with limited to no assistance;
  • Concept and Design complete Hardwire Control Systems with no design assistance (reviews are required for all major milestones);
  • Review and understand scope of supply, budget, and schedule of assigned projects;
  • Understand and apply the use of efficient peripheral equipment into designs;
  • Engineering Method, Practice, and Procedure;
  • Individual continues to strive to grow technically and professionally;
  • Manages sub-contractors and commercial issues with assistance from Project Managers;
  • Updates Project Management documents consistently and updates Project Managers as needed throughout the progression of the project;
  • Schedule Design Reviews with Project Managers before the completion of each project phase, on or before the scheduled milestone dates;
  • Design and implement effective safety solutions, and has the ability to work with multiple safety platforms;
  • Create and implement efficient software solutions on multiple PLC platforms utilizing OTI software standards;
  • Responsible for the primary communication to the customer regarding budget, timelines and milestones.

Requirements:

  • Individual is experienced in common peripheral equipment (Robotics, Vision, etc );
  • Ability to be responsive to customers demands and requirements;
  • Ability to proficiently operate in multiple software platforms is preferred;
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to Project Management and customers are required;
  • Applicant must demonstrate the ability to design and implement a complete control system with no assistance;
  • Ability to provide the most effective solutions to management and customers;
  • Ability to work in a team environment required;
  • Supervises the scheduling, installation, commissioning, operation, troubleshooting/testing/debug, and support of complex automation projects.
