Production Operator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Production Operator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Use work orders and other documentation to properly produce and custom package mechanical fasteners;
- Able to read and complete documentation (record visual inspections, and mathematical terms.);
- Able to calculate numbers to the 4th decimal place (.0001)(Mostly adding and subtracting);
- Perform quality inspections and complete the DIR accurately;
- Employ high standards of assembly work to ensure high quality products are being produced on schedule;
- Follow instructions and respond to management direction;
- Routinely communicate with your Supervisor in order to gain directives, discuss decisions and action plans, and share information;
- Set-up, operate, and perform change-over procedures of machine in accordance with operating standard protocols and machine settings;
- Record daily production paperwork, process monitors, and daily run logs sheets completely and accurately;
- Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper disposition;
- Attend all safety training and other safety operating procedures;
- Weigh product;
- Accurate and timely reporting of all safety and environmental events;
- Keep production flowing while maintaining safe operation of forklift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment;
- 1st shift to start, but must be available to switch to 2nd or 3rd if required.
Requirements:
- Certified Production Technician Certificate;
- 18 Years or older;
- Must be able to pass background and drug screening;
- General knowledge of measuring equipment and math;
- Working any shift available, including, but not limited to fixed night shifts, rotating shifts and Holidays as needed;
- Must be able to retain information and training;
- Willing and able to work rotating twelve (12) hour shifts to include weekends, holidays and overtime;
- High Diploma or equivalent (GED);
- Must have reliable transportation;
- Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting and stooping for up to twelve (12) hours a day;
- Evaluate and solve production problems and contribute to improvement of the processes;
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required;
- High technical acumen and ability to understand complex products;
- Willing and able to lift at least 50 pounds;
- Ability to work a 12 hour rotating shift that includes holidays and weekends.
