CDL Driver Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a CDL Driver to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining vehicle cleanliness;
- Deliver and set homes with the help of your set crew;
- Take on administrative tasks;
- Two weeks experience or training with products and facility layout; or equivalent experience;
- Make pickups of returning materials as directed by supervisor;
- Load and unload bulk material with vacuum (load under pressure)- typically 2 hours load & 2 hours unload;
- Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions;
- Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by Waste Management or directed by the Route Manager;
- 401K;
- Vision;
- Additional compensation for pre-loading, demurrage, washing unit, 34 hour break while on road, roadside DOT inspections, etc;
- Obtaining proof of delivery from the customer;
- Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service related issues to Route Manager or Dispatch;
- Diagnosing and maintenance of mechanical aspect of vehicle;
- Communicates customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Class A or B Commercial Drivers License;
- 1-2 years of CDL driving experience;
- Experience: Appropriate certifications and/or license with a few months to 1 year of related experience;
- Minimum of 25 years of age;
- Pass drug test;
- Class A CDL with Doubles and Triple endorsements;
- Switcher experience;
- Must have reliable attendance and be able to work overtime/weekends;
- Team Player and Leader;
- Lift over 75 pounds;
- 2 years verifiable tractor trailer OTR experience in last 5 years;
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age;
- Six months regulated tractor trailer experience;
- Basic Computer skills.
