About the role Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, components, and services that support manufacturing, service, and operational requirements at our Sterling, VA site. This role plays a critical part in ensuring material availability, cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and compliance with company policies.

This position is part of the Supply Chain / Operations team, located in Sterling, VA , and is on‑site .

Typical Day Execute purchase orders for direct and indirect materials aligned with MRP signals, production schedules, and service requirements

Maintain inventory levels that support on‑time delivery while minimizing excess and obsolescence

Expedite materials to mitigate supply risks and prevent production disruptions

Manage supplier relationships, including order confirmation, delivery performance, quality issues, and corrective actions

Support supplier negotiations on pricing, lead times, and commercial terms within defined authority

Monitor purchasing KPIs such as on‑time delivery, cost variance, lead time, and supplier responsiveness

Support PPV, VAVE, and cost‑reduction initiatives aligned with site objectives

Ensure purchased materials meet quality, regulatory, and documentation requirements

Maintain accurate purchasing, pricing, and supplier data in ERP systems

Collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to align supply with operational needs

Essential Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience

2–3 years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or operations environment

Experience executing purchase orders for direct and indirect materials

Experience supporting supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery metrics

Experience working with both domestic and international suppliers
