Inventory and Accounting Bookkeeper

Bookkeeper PositionOur client, a recreational sports and training facility in Secaucus, NJ is seeking a bookkeeper to join their accounting team.Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in bookkeeping demonstrating a good working knowledge of maintaining general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, ACH and wire transfer and bank reconciliations. Must be a good communicator and able to work effectively with vendors, customers, and collections.Responsibilities:Manage all aspects of day to day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation in accordance to GAAP.In charge of collections for all customers on a daily basisReconcile all bank accountsEnter accounts receivable invoices and paymentsEnter accounts payable invoicesEnter credit card information into QuickBooksMaintain point of sale ledgersPrepare vendor paymentsPrint month end accounts payable and accounts receivable reportsPrepare journal entries and adjustmentsPrepare cash receipts reportTransfer data weekly from point of sale system to QuickBooksTrack and process purchase ordersAllocate monthly credit card expensesPrepare bank depositsEnter/prepare quarterly sales taxPerform and improve month end close processPerform daily cash register reconciliation and make bank depositsPrepare tax reportsPrepare, maintain, and file accounting documents and recordsResearch, track, and resolve accounting discrepanciesProcessing payroll with QuickBooksAssist in annual auditPerform monthly inventory counts and inventory analysisMaintain company licensesAnswering employee staff questions for HR purposesHandling employee staff confidential information with privacy and care for HR purposesAssisting Office Manager with HR dutiesQualifications:Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.5+ years' work experience in a bookkeeping/accounting function.Strong QuickBooks skills, including all normal accounting transactions, GL management, budgeting, and reporting.Experience working in 3rd party Association Management tool (income) a plus.Strong Excel skills.Experience going through a financial audit.Attention to detail, strong communication, and problem solving are all critical skills for success in this role.The compensation for this position ranges from $70,000.00 - $90,000.00.
