HR Generalist - Recruiting & Employee Engagement

Rare Genomics Institute (RGI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping rare disease patients find a diagnosis, treatment, and path to a cure.

As RGI continues to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and mission‑driven Human Resources Generalist to join our volunteer team. This role will report to the Human Resources Lead and will support the development and implementation of key HR processes that help attract, engage, and retain talented volunteers across the organization.

The HR Generalist will collaborate with leadership and cross‑functional teams to support core HR activities such as volunteer recruitment and onboarding, HR operations, policy development, and employee engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a passion for people and culture, and an interest in building scalable HR practices within a mission‑driven nonprofit environment.

Participate in the recruiting function; applicant tracking, candidate sourcing and selection while coordinating with Hiring Managers.

Act as a resource for general inquiries and provide a confidential communication channel for all employees.

Provide coaching and support to management and staff regarding employee relations issues, performance management, policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with employment‑related laws and company policies.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Experience in human resources.

Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS systems.
