Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Oncology RN – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Competitive salary with automatic offer; details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on unit needs. Aim for 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio on Med-Surg Telemetry side. Weekend shifts variable based on unit requirements.

Highlights:

• Mixed acuity progressive care and medical-surgical telemetry unit caring for medical oncology patients (approximately 48 beds total)
• Oncology experience preferred but NOT required – 2 years of inpatient nursing experience is required
• High-acuity patient population with variety of diagnoses from solid tumors to blood cancers
• Optional professional development opportunity: 2-day chemotherapy training course available for interested nurses
• Epic charting system with GE telemetry monitoring
• Strong interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and more
• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives
• Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of current inpatient nursing experience (acute care experience must be current and consistent within last 12 months)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference

Skills & Equipment:

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration and IV management
• Central line, PICC line, and port management
• PCA pumps, Alaris pumps, continuous bladder irrigation
• BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care
• Isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with chest tubes, surgical drains, and bladder scanners

Compliance Note: Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start date. Ohio fingerprinting process must begin immediately upon contract signing. Candidates must be responsive and cooperative with credentialing team to avoid delays.
