Legal Professional for AI Model Training [Remote]

Apply your legal expertise to create original, high-quality legal materials that will be used to train and improve next-generation AI systems. In this contractor role you will author substantive legal documents that demonstrate deep analysis, issue spotting, and practical drafting skill. No prior experience in AI is required, your domain knowledge and written work are the key contributions.

micro1 is an AI data lab that converts real-world subject matter expertise into training data and evaluations for frontier AI models. The organization engages domain experts across areas such as finance, healthcare, and STEM to produce high-quality inputs that shape how models learn, reason, and perform.

• Author original legal documents in your field, delivered as PDFs or Word files, containing substantive textual analysis.
• Include multimodal elements in submissions when appropriate, for example tables, charts, figures, or diagrams that illustrate legal reasoning or data.
• Demonstrate deep legal analysis and issue spotting, showing technical depth and genuine human insight.
• Provide a mix of document types and lengths, with ideal submissions ranging from 10 to 100 pages and reflecting real-world legal work, such as memos, case analyses, contracts, and policy papers.
• Ensure all materials are original, not copied from the internet, and not synthetically generated.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and privilege awareness in materials and communications.
• Participate in feedback cycles to clarify content or improve utility for model training, and provide written and verbal updates or explanations when requested.

• Required skills: legal analysis and issue spotting, strong legal writing, and document drafting experience.
• Clear awareness of confidentiality obligations, attorney-client privilege, and data privacy when sharing legal materials.
• Experience incorporating tables, diagrams, or other modalities into legal documents.
• Proven ability to articulate complex legal concepts accurately and clearly, both in writing and verbally.
• Preferred background: practicing lawyer, legal researcher, compliance consultant, or other legal professional with hands-on experience producing memos, case briefs, contracts, or policy analyses.
• Domain experience in compliance, policy, intellectual property, regulatory, or corporate law is an asset.

• Deliverables should be provided as Word or PDF documents, be original work, and may range from 10 to 100 pages per submission.
• Submissions must not be sourced from the internet or generated by AI, and must adhere to confidentiality and privilege requirements.
• You will be expected to respond to feedback and provide clarifications as needed.

Pay range: $20 to $40 per hour.

• Open to independent contractors who can perform work remotely and enter into a contracting relationship.
