Role Overview
Provide practical litigation expertise to evaluate and improve AI-generated legal content. In this contractor role you will apply trial and appellate experience to help train next-generation AI systems by assessing briefs, arguments, and memos for legal and factual accuracy and by producing clear, actionable written feedback. No prior AI experience is required; your domain knowledge and legal judgment are the core contribution.
Key Responsibilities- Apply legal reasoning and litigation practice experience to evaluate, refine, and enhance AI outputs, including briefs, arguments, and memos.
- Review AI-generated content for factual accuracy, legal correctness, analytical rigor, and adherence to professional standards.
- Provide detailed written feedback that identifies errors, logical inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
- Offer expert judgment on ambiguous or complex edge cases to inform model calibration on nuanced legal issues.
- Draft or edit sample legal language and arguments to expand the model''s coverage of litigation scenarios.
- Collaborate asynchronously with a cross-functional project team, incorporate iterative feedback, and communicate findings clearly in writing.
- Required skills: legal reasoning, litigation and practice expertise, analytical rigor, calibration in ambiguous cases, legal writing, and precise written communication.
- JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school and an active license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 3 to 15 years of post-JD legal experience, with a strong preference for candidates focused on trial, appellate, or litigation practice.
- Judicial clerkship experience at the federal or state level is highly valued.
- Experience with legal writing, such as law journal editing or published legal authorship, is a plus.
- Substantial trial experience, federal court admissions, or appellate practice background strengthens candidacy.
- Prior teaching or instructional experience in legal education is desirable.
- Engagement type: independent contractor.
- Location requirement: remote, United States only.
- No prior AI experience required; focus is on practicing legal expertise applied to model training and evaluation.
Pay range: $80 to $140 per hour.
Eligibility- Must hold a JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school.
- Must maintain an active bar license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Preferred experience level: 3 to 15 years of post-JD legal practice, particularly in litigation, trial, or appellate work.
