Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients to document their mental health history and current challenges, ensuring a comprehensive understanding from the first consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical judgment to identify key issues.
\n
• Develop customized intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, with a focus on their unique needs and circumstances.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic modalities to promote mental healing and resilience.
\n
• Monitor and document client progress throughout treatment, using electronic health record systems such as AVATAR to maintain accurate and accessible records.
\n
• Collaborate actively with other mental health specialists, medical professionals, and social workers to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to client care.
\n
• Provide follow-up care by liaising with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who require hospitalization or additional medical oversight.
\n
• Identify risk behaviors that may interfere with recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
\n
• Support family members and primary caregivers by offering guidance on managing mental and behavioral challenges related to their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client population encompasses individuals of various ages and backgrounds dealing with a diverse range of mental health issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. Counselors will work with clients in need of immediate support as well as those seeking long-term therapeutic interventions. You will have the opportunity to create lasting relationships with your clients and support them on their journey towards mental wellness and personal empowerment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Possess a current and valid license as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
\n
• Must have successfully passed the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated previous experience as a mental health counselor is essential, showcasing a strong foundation in clinical practice.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, is preferred.
\n
• In-depth understanding of co-occurring disorders, including physical and emotional health conditions, as well as substance use issues.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in developing and leading therapeutic programs or workshops.

• Knowledge of best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—and a proven ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.

Compensation and Benefits\n
