Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant at Sharp, you will work onsite in our modern surgical center located in Riverhead, New York. The environment is designed to facilitate teamwork and communication, where healthcare providers and administrative staff work closely together to enhance the quality of patient care. Your typical work hours will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for an excellent work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess patient histories to formulate accurate diagnoses.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies, to guide clinical decision-making.
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to therapeutic interventions, making adjustments as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about diseases, ongoing treatment options, and preventive care strategies to promote wellness and health literacy.
• Facilitate continuity of care by conducting daily rounds and ensuring seamless transitions of care for patients moving through various stages of treatment.
• Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to enhance professional skills and stay updated with advancements in medical practices.
• Maintain organized and accurate patient records and documentation to support regulatory compliance and quality assurance initiatives.
• Engage in proactive patient health promotion and chronic disease management coaching to drive health improvement outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve a diverse patient population within the scope of family medicine, including individuals with chronic diseases, acute conditions, and preventive care needs. Qualifications

• Possession of a DEA number to prescribe medications.
