Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education teacher supporting middle school students in both ELA and Math resource/inclusion settings. This rewarding, contract-based position begins as soon as possible and extends through June 11, 2027. Based near Saint Clair Shores, MI, you’ll work 36.25 hours per week, from 8:05 AM to 3:05 PM, with an additional 15-minute duty period either before or after the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and targeted interventions in ELA and Math to middle school learners.
• Monitor progress, adapting strategies to meet each student’s needs.
• Manage IEPs, including development, compliance, and implementation of goals, accommodations, and behavior plans.
• Conduct evaluations and oversee an assigned caseload.
• Ensure adherence to IDEA, MARSE, and all IEP regulations, maintaining a high standard of compliance.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to foster an inclusive environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Special Education endorsement.
• Credentials in ELA and Math.
• Thorough understanding of IDEA, MARSE, IEP legal requirements, and best practices.
• Proven experience in middle school settings as a special education teacher.
• Skilled in resource, inclusion, and caseload management within the ELA/Math spectrum.
• Commitment to supporting a diverse population of students.
