Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, and routine assessments for incarcerated individuals seeking mental health services.

• Collaborate with correctional facility staff to ensure timely access to mental health services and the appropriate level of care based on individual needs.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, modifications, and care strategies, aligning with best practice protocols for mental health counseling.

• Provide specialized assessments or psychological testing as needed and supervise interns or student volunteers, fostering their clinical development.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on serving incarcerated individuals who are often facing a range of behavioral health challenges, including severe mental illness, substance use disorders, and emotional crises. Understanding the unique complexities and nuances of mental health within a correctional setting is essential, as is the ability to develop a therapeutic rapport with clients who may have experienced significant trauma or stigma.

Qualifications\n

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited educational institution.

• Minimum of five years of full-time, paid experience in a behavioral health setting, with demonstrated competency in assessing and treating diverse mental health issues.

Compensation and Benefits\n
