# Job Opportunity – Pediatric Float Pool Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment. Every other weekend and every other holiday required. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated.

Highlights:

• Float pool position rotating to various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Med-Surg, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU/ICN 1:2 or 1:3, Acute Pediatrics 1:4-5, variable in Pediatric ED
• Epic EMR system utilized throughout facility
• 60-hour orientation provided; up to 40 hours of time off approved (no RTO during first 2 weeks)
• Regional children's facility offering advanced therapies including ECMO and specialized cardiac, surgical, and neonatal services
• Interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, child life specialists, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license (may submit with license pending; must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience required
• PACU, PICU, and NICU experience required; must be comfortable with all pediatric populations
• Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience highly preferred
• Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Dr. Browns Infant-Driven Feeding Certification required (may submit with pending; $185 cost)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Must adhere to facility float policy and float within scope of practice as needed
