Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a dedicated advocate and instructional leader for early childhood special education near Chicago, IL. This full-time position focuses on empowering young learners and supporting staff through expert case management and coaching, running from ASAP until May 27, 2027. You will serve as a crucial connector between classroom best practices and compliance, ensuring exceptional educational experiences for students with disabilities from PreK through age 22.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in education or a related field
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsements for special education covering PreK to age 22
- Three or more years of hands-on experience in special education, specifically with early childhood populations
- Strong knowledge of federal and state special education regulations
- Proven skill in facilitating IEP meetings and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
- A commitment to fostering inclusive, student-centered learning environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support effective special education programming as both a case manager and instructional coach
- Coordinate and facilitate the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Work collaboratively with school administrators, general education coaches, and special education leadership to implement high-quality instructional practices
- Provide coaching, guidance, and professional development to special education staff
- Ensure compliance with all relevant special education requirements
- Lead ongoing initiatives that enhance the continuum of services for students with disabilities
