Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a middle school team in Chicago Ridge, IL. This position supports 7th grade students in a co-taught learning environment, working closely with general education teachers to provide academic and instructional support.

The caseload is 10 students total, with 5 students primarily supported in ELA and 5 in Math. Students are mainstreamed with their general education peers for academics, specials, lunch, and recess.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and support within a 7th grade co-taught classroom
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support students' academic and IEP goals
• Support students primarily with reading and/or math-related IEP goals
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Develop and implement accommodations and instructional strategies based on individual student needs
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families and school-based staff
• Provide support to students within the general education setting

Requirements

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Special education and/or co-teaching experience preferred
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
