Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic healthcare team at CareSync Healthcare Solutions located in Cortland, New York. In this full-time, onsite position at our Surgical Center, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, diagnosing, and planning comprehensive medical care for patients in collaboration with our supervising physicians. Work Environment

You will be working in a fast-paced surgical center where teamwork is paramount. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art surgical technology and is staffed by a team of highly skilled healthcare professionals. As a Physician Assistant, you will engage in direct patient interactions and work closely with our surgeons and nurses to ensure the highest level of preoperative and postoperative care. Working hours will typically be Monday to Friday, primarily with a 5:00 PM shift, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and meticulously review medical histories and records of patients seeking surgical intervention.
• Order, analyze, and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory blood tests and imaging studies such as X-rays, to inform treatment decisions.
• Diagnose and manage a range of health conditions prevalent within the family medicine realm, ensuring evidence-based care.
• Develop personalized treatment plans addressing both chronic and infectious diseases, coordinating care with supervising physicians to optimize outcomes.
• Prescribe medications and actively monitor patient responses to therapies, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on collaborative team discussions.
• Maintain organized and precise patient records and schedules, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and protocols.
• Educate patients and their families about diagnosis, treatment options, and preventive healthcare measures to empower them in their health journeys.
• Manage and oversee patients' overall health and wellness, especially during their transitions of care within the surgical setting.
• Promote health and wellness initiatives through lifestyle approaches, integrating preventive care into daily practice.
• Stay informed of the latest advancements in primary care, surgical techniques, and patient management practices through continuous education and professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adult patients undergoing surgical procedures, as well as those requiring ongoing medical management before and after their operations. Your role is critical in ensuring that patients feel informed, safe, and cared for throughout their treatment process. A compassionate approach is essential as many patients may be experiencing anxiety related to upcoming surgeries.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• At least two years of proven experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably within a family health clinic or surgical environment.
• Specialized training or expertise in family medicine and surgical care is highly desirable.
• Strong foundation in primary care practices, with substantial clinical experience in evaluating and managing diverse patient populations.
• Comprehensive understanding of health regulations, patient care standards, and documentation requirements.
• Outstanding communication skills for engaging positively with patients, families, and team members.
• A commitment to ethical, patient-centered care and a collaborative, team-oriented work ethic.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a surgical setting, particularly in a role that required direct involvement in preoperative assessments and postoperative follow-ups.
• Familiarity with surgical protocols and pain management strategies in outpatient care.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
• Active DEA number for prescribing controlled substances as part of patient management.

Compensation and Benefits

CareSync Healthcare Solutions offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 160,000, depending on your experience and qualifications.
