Job Description and Duties

The Information Technology (IT) Supervisor II serves as the Contracts Section Chief. In this role, the supervisor plans, organizes, and oversees the daily work and operations of the section. This includes handling complex, sensitive, and high level issues related to vendor performance and accountability. The supervisor regularly works with other divisions, department staff, managers, leadership, and oversight agencies to identify and resolve contract related problems. This position is a working supervisor, meaning they both manage staff and perform operational work themselves.

The duties for this position are focused in the Business Technology Management domain, however, work may be assigned in the other domains on an as needed basis.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee’s monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. Working Conditions

At FI$Cal, we are compliant with the Governor's Executive Order, N22-25, with a default minimum of four in-person days per work week. In-office attendance is mandatory on designated days and is subject to change. Our office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, California 95815. Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required before appointment. Please note, relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee.

This position requires prolonged sitting in an office-setting environment with the use of a personal computer. Employees must demonstrate a commitment to maintain a working environment free from discrimination and sexual harassment. Special Requirements

• The position requires a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
• The incumbent will use tact and interpersonal skills to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, e.g., stakeholders, customers, management, peers, etc., to facilitate communication to improve the work environment and increase productivity.
• This position requires the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and may require excess hours to be worked.
• The incumbent provides back-up, as necessary, to ensure continuity of departmental activities.
• This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year thereafter.

Statement of Qualifications

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required and must be submitted along with your State application. The SOQ must be no more than two (2) pages, single-spaced, with one-inch margins, in 12-point Arial font, organized and numbered as reflected below, with your first and last name in the upper-right hand corner of each page, and titled "Statement of Qualifications".
