Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of each child and family, either at home or through telehealth platforms.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote emotional well-being and reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious actions and aggression.

• Utilize effective anger management techniques, coping strategies, and social skills training to empower clients in managing their emotions and behaviors.
\n
• Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and other interdisciplinary professionals to create comprehensive care strategies for each client.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes as per clinic standards.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to share insights and collaborate on client progress and treatment recommendations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are navigating developmental disabilities and cognitive challenges. Therapists will engage with a diverse population, offering culturally responsive care that aligns with the unique backgrounds of the families we serve. Your expertise will have a profound impact on improving the decision-making and behavioral management skills of both the adolescents and their caregivers.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.

• An active, unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in the state of Texas.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, specifically during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with weekend availability considered a plus.

• A track record of providing positive behavioral support and effective therapeutic interventions.
\n
• Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel to client homes as needed.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working specifically with children and adolescents who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

• Training in specific therapeutic methodologies relevant to the treatment of behavioral issues.
