The role involves both virtual and in-home therapy sessions, empowering our therapists to engage directly with clients in the environments where they feel most comfortable.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Facilitate individual therapy sessions in clients' homes and group therapy sessions via our outpatient center, adapting each approach to the unique needs of the youth and their caregivers.

• Implement evidence-based strategies to address and mitigate high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression, while equipping clients with essential coping and social skills.

• Work collaboratively with families to enhance decision-making skills, addressing behavioral challenges faced in the home environment.
\n
• Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team and other multidisciplinary professionals to provide cohesive support for clients.
\n
• Accurately document all therapy-related activities, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to review cases, discuss client progress, and submit professional recommendations for treatment enhancement.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily serve a diverse array of children and adolescents aged 3-20 who present with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Your therapeutic interventions will focus not only on the individual needs of these children but also on fostering a supportive environment for their families, empowering them to be active participants in the therapeutic process.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, ideally during after-school hours of 4-7 PM; flexibility on weekends is a plus.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary for any required in-home sessions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support is highly desirable.

• Prior experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with developmental and intellectual disabilities, is preferred.

• Knowledge of culturally relevant practices and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and either Spanish or Portuguese.
