Clear Mind Therapy Clinic is seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in Astoria, New York. This full-time role focuses on delivering in-home and outpatient therapy for children and adolescents facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Work Environment\n

This position offers a flexible work setting, allowing therapists to conduct sessions remotely as well as in-person at our outpatient facility. Our clinic fosters a supportive and collaborative atmosphere, where professionals can come together to share insights and strategies for effective therapy. Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with opportunities to extend therapy sessions to after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM) to accommodate client needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized in-home therapy sessions and group therapy sessions for clients at our outpatient center, targeting emotional, social, and behavioral growth.

• Implement targeted interventions to help clients develop anger management strategies, coping skills, and enhance social interactions while mitigating high-risk behaviors like self-injury or physical aggression.
\n
• Assist youth and their caregivers in decision-making processes to effectively manage behavioral challenges within the home environment.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other interdisciplinary professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to each client’s care.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation of all therapeutic activities, including intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required records within designated timelines.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress and provide input on program development.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role centers on supporting a diverse population of children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). As an LMFT, you will engage with families to build trusting relationships, creating a safe space where children can express their needs and challenges. Your work will not only focus on the individual needs of children but will also provide vital support to families navigating their unique circumstances.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• Must possess an active and unrestricted LMFT license in New York.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours is essential. Weekend availability is a plus.

• Experience providing positive behavior support and therapeutic interventions is crucial.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working specifically with children and adolescents aged 3-20, particularly those with I/DD, is highly preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel between clients' homes and the clinic.

• Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits\n
