Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions remotely, providing personalized care that focuses on the unique needs of each child and their family.
\n
• Design and implement therapeutic interventions aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression, while also developing coping, anger management, and social skills.
\n
• Support youth and caregivers in enhancing their decision-making skills to effectively manage challenges encountered at home.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with Child Family Treatment Teams and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to family support.
\n
• Ensure timely submission of documentation, including intake, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to compliance requirements.
\n
• Participate in monthly meetings to share insights and make recommendations for program improvements.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary clientele includes children and teens, ranging from ages 3 to 20, who face various challenges due to developmental and intellectual disabilities. As a therapist, you will work with a diverse population, tailoring your therapeutic techniques to effectively address their unique circumstances and backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is mandatory.
\n
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is required to practice in New York State.
\n
• The ability to commit to a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during late afternoon and evening hours, with additional weekend availability being a plus.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in behavior management strategies and positive behavior support is preferred.
\n
• Prior work with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is a strong advantage.

• Familiarity with remote therapy tools and documentation systems is beneficial.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for any needed travel.
\n
• Candidates must successfully pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
