Healing Mind and Soul Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in providing vital in-home therapeutic services. This remote, full-time position focuses on supporting children with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges, facilitating their emotional and behavioral growth through targeted therapy interventions.

Work Environment\n

This position allows for a flexible work setting as it operates primarily in a remote format. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team engaged in delivering community-based services. You will collaborate with social workers, family therapists, and other mental health professionals, creating an enriching support system for our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients’ homes or group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, focusing on therapeutic interventions that resonate with the youth.

• Implement customized therapeutic techniques aimed at enhancing emotional regulation, such as anger management and coping strategies, to reduce high-risk behaviors like self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
\n
• Engage in collaborative decision-making processes with caregivers to develop actionable strategies for managing behavioral challenges faced by youth at home.
\n
• Work closely with the Child Family Treatment Team to offer a coordinated approach to therapy, tracking each individual’s progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, and submit these within established timeframes.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss case history and contribute recommendations for the benefit of our clients’ therapeutic journeys.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with children aged 3 to 20, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Our clients require empathetic understanding and targeted guidance to overcome unique challenges associated with their disabilities. Our mission is to empower these youth and their families by addressing their specific needs in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner, particularly for those who are bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
\n
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in New Jersey.
\n
• Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours of 4-7 pm, with some weekend flexibility.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client locations.
\n
• Successful completion of a background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavioral support, helping to guide youth in overcoming emotional and behavioral challenges.
\n
• Previous direct experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
\n
• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable to better serve our diverse client base.

Compensation and Benefits\n
