Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, you will undertake the following key responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations to ascertain the needs and capabilities of each patient with functional limitations.
• Develop customized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices aimed at minimizing disabilities and enhancing performance.
• Provide consultation to multidisciplinary healthcare teams regarding the continuum of care for patients, ensuring coordinated treatment efforts.
• Utilize and manage clinical documentation tools to accurately track patient progress and treatment effectiveness, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards.
• Facilitate patient and family education on rehabilitation processes, treatment options, and discharge plans, fostering an active partnership in care.
• Engage in community outreach initiatives and participate in continuous quality improvement programs.
• Supervise and mentor support staff, ensuring efficient departmental operations.
• Participate actively in in-service training and volunteer for leadership roles such as program development and marketing activities.

The patients you will work with at Amedisys come from diverse backgrounds and represent various age groups and functional needs. You will primarily focus on orthopedic patients experiencing recovery challenges due to surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid State License in Physical Therapy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
• Proficient computer skills, including word processing and familiarity with electronic health record systems.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience in a physical therapy setting is required, candidates with experience in a rehabilitation facility will have an advantage. Compensation and Benefits

Amedisys offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience.
