Gastroenterology Health & Science Specialist - Fairfax, VA

Pfizer seeks a field-based specialty sales professional to drive gastroenterology product launches and growth through strategic customer engagement, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. The role focuses on expanding appropriate patient identification and persistence while supporting evidence-based treatment decisions across assigned accounts in Virginia and Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Drive customer engagement and sales performance through in-person interactions within assigned territory
• Build compliant relationships with healthcare providers and office staff; deliver approved promotional messaging
• Identify account opportunities and prioritize activities using product, disease, and market knowledge
• Support patient access by providing reimbursement information, hub resources, and co-pay assistance
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and leverage digital tools to execute and optimize territory activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or associate's degree with 8+ years work experience or high school diploma with 10+ years experience
• Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales, marketing, or aligned healthcare experience
• Valid US driver's license with clean driving record; no DUI/DWI within past 7 years
• Specialty sales experience in gastroenterology, immunology, or inflammation preferred
• Understanding of complex disease states, biologics, specialty reimbursement, and distribution processes
• Experience engaging key opinion leaders and managing high-influence accounts
• Digital engagement capability and comfort with hybrid selling models

Compensation: $108,600 - $250,700 base salary plus sales incentive bonus
