Position Security Officer - Security Patrol Location: Redwood City, CA Job Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $26.80 / Hour Schedule Mon: 03:30 PM - 12:00 AM Fri: 03:30 PM - 12:00 AM Sat: 03:30 PM - 12:00 AM What You’ll Do Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to the appropriate contacts. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout academic buildings, common areas, parking locations, and perimeter points to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions. Monitor access points, observe campus activity, and assist with directions, visitor questions, and other support needs while maintaining awareness of security‑related concerns. Support a professional environment by communicating clearly with campus community members and/or first responders during routine operations, special events, and incident response situations. Minimum Requirements A minimum of 2 years of security‑related experience is required. A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. CPR certification is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. A guard card or license is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
