Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess their physical capabilities and limitations, using diagnostic and prognostic tests to gather data on muscle strength, joint mobility, and functional performance.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that adhere to the goals set in collaboration with patients and their families, targeting improvements in mobility and overall function.
• Administer hands-on therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, exercises, and the use of physical agents like ultrasound and electrical stimulation, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Oversee and mentor physical therapy assistants, ensuring the effective and appropriate delivery of therapeutic interventions as per the established plan of care.
• Document clinical evaluations and progress using electronic medical records, preparing discharge summaries, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Participate actively in case conferences with the interdisciplinary team to provide updates on patient progress and collaborate on the modification of care plans as needed.
• Educate patients and their families about home exercise programs, equipment use, and strategies to facilitate rehabilitation in their everyday environments.
• Assess and recommend assistive devices, such as prosthetics and orthotics, to support patient independence and mobility.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or an equivalent educational background from an accredited institution.

• Current CPR certification for healthcare providers.
