The Role Bellwether is seeking a Business Development Representative to support continued growth across key North Carolina territories. This is a front-of-funnel sales role focused on generating new business opportunities, setting first-time appointments, qualifying leads, and building a strong foundation for a future career in full-cycle sales. The Business Development Representative will work closely with Bellwether’s Account Executives and sales leadership to identify prospective clients, initiate outreach, uncover business needs, and help move qualified opportunities into the sales pipeline. This role is ideal for a motivated, early-career sales professional who is eager to learn consultative selling, build strong prospecting habits, and grow into an Account Executive role over time. While Account Executives own the full sales cycle through proposal and close, the Business Development Representative will focus primarily on the top of the funnel: prospecting, appointment setting, lead qualification, and early-stage relationship development. Responsibilities Generate first-time appointments through outbound prospecting, referrals, networking, and local market activity Identify and qualify prospective clients within assigned in-market territories Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand business needs, pain points, and potential fit Partner closely with Account Executives to transition qualified opportunities into the sales process Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective clients through consistent outreach Use phone, email, LinkedIn, and in-person activity to engage business decision-makers Maintain accurate prospecting activity, notes, and pipeline updates within HubSpot CRM Learn Bellwether’s services, sales process, buyer personas, and consultative approach Support new business growth by helping create meaningful conversations with prospective clients Meet and exceed activity, appointment-setting, and qualification targets Requirements 2+ years of B2B sales, business development, recruiting, customer-facing, or outbound prospecting experience preferred Strong interest in technology, IT services, managed services, or consultative sales Comfortable making outbound calls, sending personalized emails, and using LinkedIn for prospecting Confident communicating with business owners, executives, and senior decision-makers Curious, coachable, and motivated to grow into a full-cycle Account Executive role Strong organizational skills and ability to manage daily activity goals Self-motivated, accountable, and comfortable in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership Experience using CRM tools to track activity and manage leads preferred Base salary of $60,000–$80,000, plus uncapped commission Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance 401(k) with 50% company match up to 6% effective 3% Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and $15K Life & AD&D effective after 1 year 15 days PTO day one and company holidays #J-18808-Ljbffr Frey Consulting Group
