Family First Physical Therapy is excited to announce an opening for a full-time Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist (DPT) in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in Brooklyn, New York. In this pivotal role, you will engage with patients to promote recovery, enhance physical mobility, and optimize their overall quality of life. Driving patient-centered care, you will be responsible for assessing individual needs and creating personalized treatment plans that foster healing and rehabilitation.

About the Organization

Family First Physical Therapy is a physical therapist-owned practice dedicated to providing exemplary outpatient care specializing in orthopedic rehabilitation. Our facility spans 5,000 square feet and is equipped with advanced sports medicine technology, allowing us to deliver high-quality treatments to our patients who primarily rely on private medical insurance. Our experienced team consists of two licensed physical therapists and a physical therapy assistant, all committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Work Environment

Located onsite in Brooklyn, our facility boasts modern equipment and comfortable treatment areas designed to ensure an optimal rehabilitation experience. Our dedicated team works Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, enabling a consistent and structured schedule that allows therapists to focus on delivering quality care without weekend interruptions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed assessments to identify patients' personal goals and specific rehabilitation needs.
• Manage a caseload where you'll typically see one patient per hour, allowing for focused and personalized attention.
• Design and implement comprehensive treatment plans that utilize evidence-based interventions, improving patient outcomes.
• Utilize manual therapy techniques and develop customized exercise protocols to enhance mobility and function.
• Document all patient care activities meticulously in our EMR system (WebPT), ensuring continuity of care and compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to provide coordinated patient care.
• Motivate and educate patients to encourage adherence to therapy plans, promoting self-management and long-term health benefits.
• Evaluate and monitor patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary to meet evolving patient needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patients range from individuals recovering from surgical procedures to those managing chronic conditions or injuries. We place a strong emphasis on orthopedic rehabilitation and work closely with patients to reduce their reliance on medications, exploring alternative treatments to surgery whenever possible. Each treatment plan is tailored to enhance strength, flexibility, and overall functional capabilities in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York.
• Exemplary professional record with no history of board actions or disciplinary measures.
• Proficient manual therapy skills and experienced in developing effective exercise regimens.
• Competence in using electronic medical records systems, specifically WebPT.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication and rapport-building with patients and family members.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience practicing as a Physical Therapist in an orthopedic outpatient setting.
• Familiarity with sports medicine techniques and interventions.
• Experience in patient education and motivational strategies for wellness and rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
