What You’ll Do:

• Deliver tailored instruction in a self-contained classroom for students with severe disabilities
• Design and implement lesson plans that align with individual education plans (IEPs)
• Adapt teaching methods and curriculum content to suit diverse learning needs
• Track and document student progress towards IEP goals, maintaining thorough records
• Promote positive behavioral supports and facilitate social, life, and functional skill development
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers, special education staff, and related service professionals
• Maintain frequent communication with families and caregivers to ensure ongoing support and partnership
• Participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing insights to optimize student outcomes
• Foster a classroom environment that is safe, welcoming, and responsive to each student’s needs

Qualifications:

• Current South Carolina certification in Special Education
• Experience supporting students with severe disabilities is highly preferred
• Deep understanding of individualized instruction, differentiated strategies, and IEP implementation
• Exceptional communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering inclusivity, growth, and success for students with diverse learning profiles
• Ability to begin work as soon as possible
