Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher, working onsite within a collaborative and dedicated educational environment. You'll teach two unique caseloads: one focused on elementary students with autism, and another serving PreK special education learners. This diverse experience allows you to develop tailored educational strategies and collaborate closely with other professionals to foster student growth and achievement.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education (SPED) teaching license (emergency certificates not accepted)
- Previous experience in special education classroom settings, especially with autism and early childhood or PreK populations, is highly valued
- Ability to obtain any required certifications prior to start, including pending certification status
- Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively work with students, families, and school teams
- Flexibility to adapt instructional methods for students with a wide range of needs
- Commitment to working onsite—remote work is not available for this position
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique requirements
- Teach and support students in both an elementary autism-focused classroom and a PreK special education classroom
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and family members, to promote student progress
- Monitor student performance, document progress, and adjust strategies as needed
- Cultivate an inclusive, supportive, and respectful classroom atmosphere
