Work Environment\n

This position offers the flexibility of remote work through telehealth, allowing you to conduct therapy sessions from your preferred environment while reaching clients across Berkeley. You will have the opportunity to establish meaningful therapeutic relationships using secure online platforms, ensuring accessible support for those who may have barriers to traditional in-person services. Our work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with some evening hours required on a rotating basis to accommodate client appointments.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed and compassionate assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and substance use issues, identifying co-occurring disorders.

• Collaborate with clients in creating tailored treatment plans that integrate evidence-based therapies aimed at addressing both mental health and substance use challenges.

• Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions that focus on developing essential coping skills, relapse prevention tactics, and emotional regulation strategies.

• Verify and coordinate care with our interdisciplinary team to ensure a cohesive and holistic approach to each client's treatment plan.

• Engage in regular substance use monitoring while employing motivational interviewing techniques to facilitate engagement and adherence to treatment.

• Educate clients and their families about the connection between mental health issues and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of compliance with treatment.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, therapeutic interventions, and referrals, adhering to ethical and legal standards.

• Participate actively in case conferences and staff meetings to enhance collaborative team dynamics and enrich your professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work primarily with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, a complex population that requires an understanding of the multifaceted interactions between these issues. Your role will involve crafting individualized therapeutic experiences that address unique client needs, helping facilitate recovery and stability.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT within the state of California.

• Experience in implementing evidence-based therapeutic frameworks, such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A strong grasp of the interrelation between mental health and substance use disorders to effectively address varied client needs.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration and communication in a diverse, interdisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in a mental health counseling setting, with a focus on treating clients with co-occurring disorders.

• Demonstrated proficiency in telehealth methodologies and experience with virtual therapy tools.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this role ranges from USD 75,000 to 100,000, complemented by a performance-based bonus structure.
