Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed assessments and evaluations to accurately identify clients' mental health needs and craft personalized treatment plans tailored to individual circumstances.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals, families, and groups, employing a range of modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, and solution-focused therapy.
\n
• Engage collaboratively with case managers, psychiatrists, and other members of the clinical team to ensure synchronized care that addresses all aspects of a client’s mental health.

• Respond effectively to crisis situations through immediate crisis intervention while utilizing your clinical expertise and compassionate approach.

• Participate in community outreach initiatives that raise awareness about mental health and contribute to destigmatization efforts in the Oakland area.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clientele includes individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds who are grappling with a wide array of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and severe psychological disorders. As a Mental Health Therapist at the Valor Center, you will have the opportunity to deepen your cultural competence and enhance your clinical skills by working with clients exposed to a range of life experiences and challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A current and independent license to practice as an LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or as a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in the state of California.

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
\n
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport and therapeutic relationships with clients effectively.

• Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity in working with individuals from various backgrounds.
\n
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail, ensuring timely and accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in community-based mental health settings, including familiarity with integrated care models.

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and ability to implement these in therapeutic practices.

• Prior involvement in community outreach and educational programming related to mental health.

Compensation and Benefits\n
